Courtesy of EONS Fashion Antique The other night I was out with a dear friend for the 100th anniversary of the Martha Graham Dance Company performance, where I crossed paths with a few other folks I’ve known, as one does after living in the same city for over thirty years, including my old friend Richard Parsakian, proprietor of the infamous EONS vintage clothing boutique.

The year of the fire horse will soon be upon us….. I celebrate three new years: the Gregorian, the lunar, and my birth one. This book started being written years ago (on this platform) so it spans some time, and of course, many new years. With all these new years to observe I can sometimes get turned around with where I am in the course of any one of them…and what I find is that (perhaps more naturally) I gravitate to the seasonal year to keep me on some sort of organized track, but even this gets tangled up in the more productive Q1,2,3,4 approach.

Courtesy of holidaytoday.org A friend recently shared with a group that I’m a part of that today is “Blue Monday”, something I’d never heard of (and rightfully so, as it got its start in the UK, where my friend is from and I am not!) but have been thinking about since yesterday when I learned of it. When I went searching around for more on the history of this “bollocks” holiday, I started stumbling across the response by some other folks who wanted to challenge the concept of the “world’s most depressing day” in the form of “Brew Monday”, which I totes adore given it’s all about connecting with a cuppa and checking in on loved ones (or anyone really) to see how they’re doing.

This morning I was reviewing my photo library and came across an image for the rules for being human (according to some ancient Sanskrit and that also seem to vary from nine to twelve rules, not surprised there’s a variation on this🥴) and I’m sharing them here, all twelve rather than nine because who doesn’t want a few extra rules this go round?

If only we could do everything…where would we be? What would we be? I look around most days and wonder if where we are as a result of everything we’ve done is merely a result of everything we have become. I think you can appreciate the sentiment behind this statement AND the sheer frustrating reality that no matter where you are in the world or WHO you even are in this world, the playing field is leveled with “everything" being the common factor.

The queries I’ve tasked various AI tools available to me over these last few years have mainly been so that I can have another “perspective" to consider when attempting academic/philosophical work as well as creative endeavors; both of which have yielded predictably mixed results, as you too have likely experienced if you’ve been curious to explore what we’ve created with yet another bit of science.

By the Winter Equinox, the series needed to pause to tend to the health of a family member (which lasted past the Spring Equinox as well) and here we are, a year later picking back up to finish the series. Being a citizen of the world can often mean that we spend as much time outside of our homes as we do inside. It can also mean that we can go through periods of our lives not having or perhaps even wanting a home. With a home, whether renting or owning, comes even more responsibility...to this structure that protects us from the harsher elements and for some, many even, to those who live next door to us.
