Since someone told me they view custom license plates as a tax on the affluent dumb, I haven’t been able to look at these cars and drivers without going… yeah… makes sense.

Yes. Let’s give the AI browser that got caught with the most basic injection access to our passkeys. That seems like a fantastic idea.

AI is brilliant. It allows us to center all of our customer support at the lowest bidder and get away with it!

The getting away with it:

Just make sure your product has 0 costs to create, deliver & support. And you’ll be juuuuuuuuuust fine

Per @caseynewton.bsky.social and Platformer:

Meta expects 1 Billion in fines for clear SPAM ads, but these ads generate 7 Billion in revenue each year.

Meta “allows” 135M (with M) to be taken down, to not impact revenue.

96% of SPAM reports are ignored.

The EU needs to kick this company out.

Why do we fall?

So that we can learn to pick ourselves up again.

I got on.

It was the best dark ride I have ever been on.

There was a time I thought Dick Cheney was the most vile politician of our time.

I have since been proven wrong.

Anyway he’s dead now. Good riddance.

Just in case anyone in the EU, mostly Berlin, needs a reminder.

Here’s how the Chinese play this game:

Orange man increases tariffs.

- Nothing

Orange man caves

- Success

My “I’m getting too entitled” warning sign is seriously disliking light sparkling water.

I mean why would anyone order that let alone drink… never mind. I’m getting too entitled.

The original Post: no one would buy a HolidayInn shoe, but everyone would stay at a Nike hotel.

Commenter: what about a slipper?

Stop forcing assumed preferences. Let me edit my profile in the algorithm. I promise I know myself better than your model does. I like 80’s music. I just don’t want it pushed on me. Too many personalization systems decide for you. Give me a choice to weigh your decisions.

Thank fuck the algorithm can still serve them red pill/suicide/anorexic idolation.

As long as my kids are saved from seeing their favourite artist sipping from a drink can.

We need to desilicon-valley our societies.

The Oatmeal with a fantastic cartoon essay on why AI art is soulless slop.

"Someone once told me that art is like emotional nutrition. …Consuming AI art is like eating styrofoam. It wasn't made with all the pain and joy that goes into actual creation.”

Why do companies keep shooting themselves in the foot by showing lower prices than they have available?

Take this example from a hotel room that has the word “from” carrying a lot of weight.

The actual price: 158.21.

If you’re really quiet, and listen very carefully… You can hear millions of European marketers breath a sigh of relief that the first week of autumn has brought autumn weather.
