This gorgeous stuff is canarywood, which I’m going to turn into a hand-carved bench as the fourth of my Final Four carvings before I leave the US. This one has already been spoken for; the other three are still available. Check back through my feed to see them.

Kinder words were never written.
@timbrookes.bsky.social surprised me today with a digital version of his book on handwriting, By Hand, and IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I'm supposed to be in this annoying massive portfolio team building thing (Monash management please stop reading here) and instead I keep sneaking my laptop open to read it.

An entire industry would like you to believe that your handwriting is slow, inefficient, illegible, and ugly. Find out what you have to lose if you believe them in my new book By Hand. www.endangeredalphabets.com/by-hand/

My new book, By Hand, arrives from the printers today! So over the weekend I need to sign 150+ copies to send out--but I don't mind if you add to that number! Check it out and order at www.endangeredalphabets.com/by-hand/

Two of the final carvings I'm going to make as a farewell to America. In folded Mongolian script they say “Joy” and “Love”; the next will say “Peace.” Long and sturdy, in beautiful pau amarillo wood, they can be wall art or very, very special benches. Contact me if interested.

This, one of my last 4 American carvings, is going to looking incredible. “Believe in yourself “ in Mongolian, and the wood is an incredible (but not endangered) hardwood called Chakte Viga, or orangeheart. Bear in mind it will be five times as colorful and vivid when finished….

About half the carvings in my Fond Farewell Moving Sale have been snapped up. If you're interested, you'd better hurry over to www.endangeredalphabets.com/2025/10/31/w... toot sweet.

Just added to my extended moving sale: A carpe diem proverb in Tai Tham. Walnut, roughly 48"x 14." One fascinating feature of this carving is that one of the panels has a bullet embedded in it, presumably fired into the tree before it was cut down. www.endangeredalphabets.com/2025/10/31/w...
