How's this for a broken RX / insurance system?

Drug (every two weeks at-home injectable) costs $4500/month. I am well-insured with a HDHP. I do research and find out the drug's manufacturer offers a co-pay card. Great.

Co-pay card pays the ENTIRE co-pay, even though it's start of year, wiping […]

I used to enjoy the spectacle of Super Bowl ads. Now I'm just sad about the excess commercialism and all the good that could be done with that money instead.

And this is why our nation's voter rolls are a mess.

Why did MA not notify VA directly, immediately, and automatically when I registered? This should not be my problem to fix.

And as far as I can tell there's no incentive for me to cancel my VA registration […]

Yikes! That is an absolutely wild and disappointing stance for the ACLU to be taking.

Hello #unionplace !

We have historically maintained federation with threads.net, but with a "limit" in place, in the interest of our mission to provide broad networking/communication.

More and more I'm feeling like that is the wrong decision. So, local users, please let me know: are you for […]

The title is, of course, clickbait, but this video from More Perfect Union is a great, balanced, and researched take on the supposed benefits to communities of building datacenters.

Someone at Google posted a meme celebrating the possibility of Sergey and Larry becoming the first trillionaires, and I couldn't let that one pass by - it got an #endbillionaires response with a little more text, and the I started getting replies from my supposedly intelligent colleagues […]

#endbillionaires

I'm not sure this has any legs or is the right way to do it but something is better than nothing.
Nothing brings tech titans together like taxes.
This week, as the specter of a California “billionaire tax” ballot initiative gained momentum, the moguls grew furious. The outrage reached a fever pitch on X, where the following scenarios were predicted, should the initiative be approved in […]

Dear EV chargers with a session fee: fuck right off.

It doesn't cost you anything meaningful to initiate a charging session. If you want to set a minimum, I won't like it, but I'll live with it. But a purely incremental session fee? Why is that even a thing.

I should go to bed and stop playing "I Am Future". If you like cozy, automation-ish, techie / futuristic games, highly recommend. A few grindy bits but overall very well paced, nice coziness settings, A+ would recommend. Currently on sale for $9.99 on Steam.

Any USB-C PD experts in the house?

For some reason my Anker power brick won't negotiate 15V with my Steam Deck, only 9V. But if I pass through an Anker battery with dual USB-C, it'll give 15V to the deck and take 45W in... using 20V.

Does this adapter just not support 15V and the Deck doesn't […]

Home inspection report: "odor of natural gas from the [natural gas fired, actively operating at time of inspection] furnace"

Ya think? It's a natural gas furnace that you just cut off to inspect it. Of course you're going to be able to catch a whiff of natural gas.
