Trump is killing the Voice of America. VOA has been a global force against authoritarian government since 1942. It broadcast messages of freedom and democracy around the world throughout the cold war. It has been a beacon for truthful news and information ever since. This is an act of sabotage.

Here's the nation's highest intelligence officer posting a nakedly political love letter to Trump after his Oval Office embrace of Putin. Impossible to overstate how wrong this is, how contemptuous of her office, how deep a disgrace to the United States and American intelligence.

This week the Senate may make this man -- a political zealot with zero qualifications -- the FBI director. If confirmed, he will disembowel the FBI's national security, intelligence, and counterintelligence divisions because Trump hates and fears them. The Russians and Chinese will be thrilled.

The nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to be Director of National Intelligence is not just a terrible idea. It's against the law. And the law is clear: the nominee "shall have extensive national security expertise." She doesn't. She is, however, a conspiracy theorist and Putin apologist. So there's that.
