I haven't played league in years at this point (though I dabble in tft) and it feels like a complete game on its own for sure

It doesn't feel like knowledge of LoL is needed at all other than recognizing some characters tbh, it's its own game, a lot of interesting decision making and a lot more interaction than I thought, genuinely had a blast today

also teepo is for sure less annoying than I remember, but I've since experienced the annoying mascot thing in Berseria (can't remember the name not looking it up) so maybe it's relative

also i cannot imagine im remotely near the first person to make this observation but wow it really does feel like a straight line from Foundation to Dune huh

I read the yugioh Manga back in high school and the yoyo arc is the only thing I retained from it, a true work of art

They feel so fundamental to me in terms of 90s rock that it kind of blows my mind they aren't known outside of Canada much

funnily enough The Tragically Hip kinda does fall into the same category as U2 for me of 'Bands my dad listened to heavily when I was 7'
I do love The Hip though, more than U2 or Nickelback for sure :P

which might even be why I tend to see more Nickelback hate - anytime a Canadian artist gets big outside of Canada they tend to get overplayed here because of Cancon laws (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadia...)

I think I'm *just* young enough that I kind of think of U2 as dad rock, but I have always enjoyed them - I'm also not in the UK so they probably didn't show up as much on radio for me

I think my one and only music hot take is that this is also (mostly) true of Nickelback - at least in that I think they get a lot of performative hate - I don't know that I'd call any of their albums seminal but most of us have been wrong been down to the bottom of every bottle once or twice i think

Oh I do miss Better Off Ted - that show deserved the world

I actually have the physical DVD of the series somewhere i should rewatch it
