They don't make 1/1s like they used to
They barely even make 1/1s!

I mean, one thing I want is to be a Top 8 Jund or Jeskai Control player, and that doesn’t seem feasible for various reasons.
So I might just settle for a goal of drafting 2x a week on the current set to get better there.

I am aware that a community can have distinct subsets that are excited by different things.
I am aware that we are all united by our love of casting spells.

It's not giving back to me what I have put into it, and I'm not over that just yet.

As a genuine question, what would be the draw?
Are there panels/artists there beyond life and times of furries?

And every Christmas, I'll remember the songs I was listening to as my body started working the way it was supposed to, for the first time in a long time.

So that's basically where we stand. I still get IV treatment. Some years at home, some years at a hospital, depending on what insurance prefers. The drug itself costs 5 figures, so I will never not have health insurance. Never not be at a job that doesn't provide it.

In 2012 or so I heard news that a cure might be coming. I told a friend I wasn't sure I'd take it--it felt like it would remove a part of my identity, that I'd be less me. Like the X-men in X2.

I was still on my parents' health insurance at the time.

The treatment worked. Symptoms largely went away.
I'm probably in the 95th percentile for number of colonoscopies among men my age.
It's still something I live with, though. And will, for the foreseeable future.

That was almost 20 years ago now.

Since then, I've gotten tattoos.
I get blood drawn without hysterics as needed.
I give platelets multiple times a year--and those needles are huge! They stay in you for hours!
