An MP in Zimbabwe has called for the repeal of the country's "backwards" 1977 abortion law. He argued that safe abortion should be available to a wider range of Zimbabwean women, as it is currently restricted to a privileged few. Each year, 60,000 women die due to unsafe abortion.

Lord Dubs is correct. Keir Starmer and Shabana Mahmood are letting us all down and they’re reinforcing Reform’s one main policy. Farage couldn’t have achieved this if he’d spent millions on lobbyists.

This is not what we voted for.
November 28, 2025 at 10:36 AM
When you listen to Starmer talking about poverty and children you can tell it’s a script , he is looking for a better press and then appears in a crèche where the parents with children ignore him.
When he and Rachel Reeves were elected they voted to keep them in poverty and suspend MPs who voted against. While this is a good development, make no mistake, it was not about social justice, it is because they are frightened by the polls. Labour’s reputation justifiably in the toilet.
Shock as Starmer matches his actions to his words.

He hasn’t got hundreds of thousands of children in poverty; he has 4.5 million

Kemi Badenoch verbal assault on Rachel Reeves was distressing viewing and if that had taken place in the workplace she would have been on a final warning or sacked. Ok to criticise the budget but to criticise the chancellor the way she did was disgraceful.

However it has not yet been decided how it will be actioned? Will Garages during the 3 yearly MOT put the mileage to the HMRC who will charge you every 3 years at a possible bill of say £1800 if you travel 20k? Need to keep a piggy bank.
The UK government plans to tax EV owners per mile driven – because they don’t buy petrol, which is also taxed.

Almost as crazy as having Boris Johnson still in office.

Isn’t Labour supposed to be pro environment?

If you're proud of the decision Starmer and Reeves made today on the 2 child benefit cap.

You should be disgusted by the decision they made 16 months ago.

To punish Sultana, McDonnell, Burgon and others for fighting for it.

Did no one hear the Deputy Speaker in the HoC berate the Labour Party front bench for abusing the protocols of the HoC with way they bypassed and went on line and TV to expose the budget? Surely this must include a sanction or is it meaningless rhetoric?

This tactic is out of Trumps playbook , use the judges to get your own way, the Judges selected are being used and they know it , who on earth in England will accept one of these judges to judge them in court knowing they are state poodles.

I don’t read on this platform about the Alba Party in Scotland but they do not want more onshore Turbines only off shore. We produce enough electricity twice what is needed and pay billions in fees when the Turbines are shut down but Scotland sees no benefit. This party supports de facto independence.

What is progressive by using the words birthing person? It is a mental anomaly created by social media and means nothing.
if the "kate forbes tells civil servants to stop saying 'birthing person'" story is true, i guess the SNP continues to try to get some of Starmer's popularity by alienating progressives as she does culture war virtue signalling for bigots that will never vote for them as Swinney looks on and smiles.
