Yet I find myself increasingly unable to voice this. The reason is that I still don't know Japan well enough. The journey from liking Japan to truly knowing Japan is still a long one.

I feel this also conveys a firm resolve. Just as one cannot ignore the influence of news and politics, one cannot ignore my reasons for studying abroad. The answer is simple—because I like Japan.
