also i can give you my methodology for retopology when you get to that, i find it's not that bad when you have the model set up right (though admittedly it's the sort of low effort repetitive task that my brain loves so i'm somewhat predisposed to not find it as bad as most)

the real hell is UVs.

if you keep the topology relatively even that will help with sculpting, as the resolution of brush strokes will stay consistent across the whole mesh. issue i ran into a bunch with my tlatolophus. even, square polygons are what you really want, maybe with some higher density in high detail regions.
