So, once again, people on Facebook are claiming that the driving force of protests against ICE is affluent white women. And, yeah, I won't deny that Renee being white (dunno about her wealth) probably made her a better face, but that doesn't make white women the driving force.

For all the right wing pearl clutching about the mean liberals not mourning Charlie Kirk, the general sentiment I saw on Bluesky was that murder is bad but also you don't have to pretend Charlie Kirk was a sweet child promoting conversation devoid of policy.

Heads up: there's a talking point going around on Facebook that the only people who don't join conservatives in masturbating to ICE shooting people are white liberals and that most non whites actually support everything the police state does.

There is a strong possibility that I will be running Tomb of Annihilation for a new D&D group in the near future. I'd like to call attention to one particular location in Chult: Dungrunglung. The sidequest there looks interesting, but they made a tiny mistake: you have to speak Grung.

On Facebook, someone argued against the Party Switch by arguing, among other things, that Democrats are the party that turned away refugees during WWII. I can only assume they are trying to use that against Democrats because they support white refugees and not dark ones.

Many leftists like to call liberals either cowards or indistinguishable from the right, and that is often true, particularly with liberal politicians and media figures. But that also ignores the fundamental asymmetry in American politics: the right has more fracking billionaires.

End Wokeness has declared the Brown University shooting to have been carried out by Antifa on the basis that one of the victims was a Republican. The other victim was a Muslim, so logically, the shooter must have been a white conservative...... right? That's how the logic works.

I've mentioned before that I'm a fan of the Eberron setting, but I think my favorite thing about Keith Baker's work isn't even specific to Eberron. In Chronicles of Eberron, he has a section called "Common Knowledge", which I think should be required reading for world builders and DMs.

All over Facebook, conservatives are responding to the liberal talking point of Jesus being an immigrant/refugee with semantics about how technically Egypt was part of the Roman Empire. Here's the thing: if Mary and Joseph had fled to Persia, and definitely been refugees, they wouldn't care.

Fun fact: the Oath Keepers are made up largely of military or ex military and their central premise is that the military should disobey unlawful orders. And yet Trump not only doesn't want to kill them for expressing that view, but has actively supported them. How curious.

In light of several Democratic members of the military/intelligence releasing a video reminding said agencies they can refuse to obey unlawful orders, Republicans are calling for arrest. The most charitable interpretation of their cries is that Democrats are dog whistling with "unlawful".

I've seen quite a few conservatives promote Haidt's "The Righteous Mind" as proof that conservatives understand liberals more than the reverse, but I've not seen any real responses to that.
