From hunting subs to continental defense against IRBMs

The reason the destroyer is around today is because the "destroyer" has continued to evolve in capabilities and roles. Today the name means little as destroyers fill so many different roles, from the classic WW2 fleet escort role to those of surface action group and task force leaders.

We can debate about the role/influence of aircraft on WW2 forever but you can see for yourself what even older aircraft on more limited British aircraft carriers were doing in the Mediterranean against the Italians and Fliegerkorps X. And what the Fliegerkorps X was doing to the Royal Navy.

Their utility right up to the Gulf War was the fact they had space to bolt Harpoon and TLAM canisters on—something you could have done on practically anything that had space.

Seriously this is only mildly exaggerated. The mere suggestion that taxes need to increase sends people into a state of pure rage.

My partner and I have been debating whether or not we should get a console so we can play on our TV. But we have resisted the idea because we are both PC gamers and rebuying games does not sit well with both of us. Depending on price this might really fit our need.

The next Dem Admin should seize Israeli assets and use them to redevelop Gaza and the West Bank. For its lack of restraint, for its lack of care, for its lack of adherence to the laws of war, for its complete indifference to the suffering of civilians, and the war crimes committed by its soldiers.
