The things you see when you've gone out for a walk without your hammer OR your valve core removal tool.

When I suggested he was lacking in the groin department he didn’t have a comeback.

Case closed M’Lud.

Can’t drive, either.

Weapons grade 🔔🔚

The single worst car we’ve ever owned (and by some considerable margin) was a 2011 Audi Q5 TDI S-line. While it proved reliable it was horrific to drive. Numb steering, bone jarring ride and not remotely economical. Was genuinely the worst of everything.

Exactly.

And they were the ones I lusted after.

I’m disappointed that you don’t immediately recognise!

I’d also failed to bring a shovel with me.

The exercise would have done me the world of good, alas I doubt it would have rescued me from my predicament.

I *think* that, on closer inspection, you’ll see that I was *considerably* more stuck than you (having sunk the trailer up to the axles and thus restricting my ability to tip), hence the tractor.

I was promised that the access to tip my manure was “firm”.

It was not.

Didn’t they just. At the point they became affordable (to me at the time) they vanished.

Clio engine conversions? Just like the 405s and BXs with the Mi engine, maybe?

The ITR was a huge amount of fun, and I’m glad I owned one, but, weirdly, I wouldn’t have another. Huge thirst for oil and just a bit compromised for running as a daily with no torque. The Impreza that replaced it was much more my thing and I’d have another in a heartbeat.

Full marks for the 19 Valver. I always wanted one, thought they were a GREAT shape.

It also gave me one of my most memorable ever drives from Dufftown to Rhynie in the snow one day. I felt like (a very slow) Colin McRae. Was never driving in a straight line 🤣

Very cool thing.

Yeah I’ve been lucky in choosing some good/great cars… And doesn’t include 205 1.6 GTI, 205 GTI Mi16, 106 GTI, 306 Rallye, Subaru Brat mk5 Golf R32, mapped E90 325d. Disappointing ones include Golf 7.5 GTD (unreliable), 206 GTI (pretty dull) and others I don’t even remember 😂

I actually had 2, one of which had to go after I accidentally bought a Subaru “Brat” on eBay after a couple of sherbets.

And, full disclosure, the imagination comment is fully tongue in cheek as I could have had a full Peugeot list and an almost full 205 list, too 😆

So you time travelled +/- 10%?
November 28, 2025 at 10:34 PM
And slow.

Don’t you mean the Kentucky Bell?
November 26, 2025 at 10:40 PM
Good. That means you also want to clean them, right? 😆

Wheel choices need to be made purely on the ease of cleaning, not how they look (this from a man who has washed his Ranger twice in 20k miles)
November 26, 2025 at 10:39 PM
Urgh. Neither. Gimme a 959 or 360 CS and some cash back, please.
November 26, 2025 at 10:33 PM
Ok I NEED the 365, the 635 and the Cortina (maybe the Maser & the MX5), the rest I like I’ve picked up already. Not that fussed about American stuff.

The hunt is on.
