Also, if you haven’t already, try the Olio App — last week someone locally collected a crate of artichokes that were being given away to reduce food waste… probably because they’re not exactly an everyday staple! Great for saving money and saving food.

But the main point of the post was really about buying produce in season, because it’s so much cheaper than buying it out of season.

I totally get what you mean about artichokes not feeling very budget-friendly! The good news is they’re actually really easy to grow — and because they’re perennials, they come back year after year with very little effort, which means they genuinely offer great value for money in the long run.
