Retired high school Journalism teacher living in Elkins Lake. Sam Houston State alum and huge fan of Longhorns, Cowboys, Mariners and Kraken.

Love a round of golf, hot cup of coffee, smoked brisket and good music
The oldest piece of clothing I own is this 1998 Sam Houston sweatshirt. Refuse to let it go.

Still wear it often in the winter and looks almost as good as the day purchased.

It has survived numerous road trips, moves and spills.

Consider it almost like a friend.

The Seattle Seahawks are currently the NFL's best team and 2 Dallas area products are a big reason why.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is playing WR at another level and Byron Murphy is a havoc creating monster in the interior DL.

Wish the Cowboys played one of these international games to get my weekly misery out of the way early.

The most effective bosses/teachers/coaches all share one attribute in common.

They motivate employees/students/athletes to consistently produce maniacal effort.

It's the key to unlocking and maximizing potential.

Intelligence is overrated. Ability often is, too.

Be a good person. Surround yourself with people of integrity. It's not that hard.

Will always remember the following from a former student.

"I don't remember much of what you taught me in class. I remember everything you taught me about life."

What it's all about.

The most successful people are visionary rather than reactionary.

Stumbles along the way are treated more like speed bumps than road blocks.

Y'all have a great week, and for all my PNW friends here, go Seahawks!

The agenda today.

1. (Bad) Golf

2. TV 1 tonight - Seeing if the underpaid, overachieving Dodgers can prolong their season

3. TV 2 - Watching my beloved alma mater attempt to win a 🏈 game at Louisiana Tech. Would be the biggest upset since my kids turned down a free meal.

Halloween is here and I have the same costume on as every other day of the year - that of a diehard, disgruntled, exasperated yet proud Seattle Mariners and Dallas Cowboys fan.

The Dodgers bullpen is like having a huge zit on Dua Lipa.

Part of the beauty of baseball is seeing a guy like Alejandro Kirk, built like a pregnant russet potato, excel.

Shohei Ohtani is 1 of 1.

I've watched baseball for closing in on 6 decades and have never seen anything like him.

3 for Friday

1. You can't be a decent person if you condone the actions of evil people

2. No one who lives an idealic life can write truthful lyrics

3. Greatness requires more commitment than intelligence

Feeling about as low as humanly possible. My ♥️ is shattered.

This Mariners loss ranks right up there with the Crabtree catch, the Dwight Clark catch and the Jackie Smith dropped pass as all time sports lows.

Will sting forever. Baseball is a cruel game.

Logan Gilbert's performance tonight reminds me of a late Randy VanWarmer song.

"You Left Me Just When I Needed You Most"

Today would be a good day for the Seattle Mariners to advance to their first World Series.

Leaving for Port Angeles early in the morning on a business/pleasure excursion.

Can't wait to get out of Allergy Hell for a few days and equally excited to be in the PNW during the Mariners playoff run.

Will be watching the Longhorns Saturday.

Late Tuesday thought

Had a colleague who loved to brag about his academic accomplishments. He had no wife and no life outside school.

I left SHSU with a modest GPA, a wife, lifetime friends and stories of adventures to last forever.

I win.

More to college than books.

That was impressive. Never in my wildest sports dreams did I imagine the Mariners would hold that lineup to 1 run.

Work left to do. I'm going to enjoy tonight.

Shot in the dark, but looking for any Mariners fans on here who are in Port Angeles.

Will be there Thursday through Monday and would love to meet up and watch the games.

Obviously want more, but would be more than satisfied if my Mariners can split these first 2 games in Toronto.

Don't love the pitching matchup tonight. This team, however, has consistently silenced my doubts.

Can't wait to be in the area later in the week.
