It's also hilarious to me that the easiest way to "stop people taking advantage" is, once more, just UBI. It's *really hard* to take advantage of a system that's wholly universal, and even if folks do manage to... it stimulates the economy! Political ghouls just want to hurt people, full stop.

It's almost like even "bad" actors are still people with a vested interest in perpetuating and building off the system they see personal benefit from.

But fuck poor people for needing appliances, or apt repairs, or any of the other life things that aren't just rote survival and corpse starch.

It's fucking hilarious to me how we knew people when I was growing up who *did* "scam" the system...

And it unilaterally helped us poor and disabled folk afford necessities and treats the system was too cheap or malicious to help people with.

Now the attitude has shifted to "I should be allowed to go anywhere and do anything I want and it is the responsibility of literally everybody else except for me to ensure that nothing bad ever happens to me and if I encounter something that makes me uncomfortable it is the fault of everybody else."

Or when you say "Rogue Trader could do for some obviously inhuman party members that aren't just Eldar" and people go "but the Imperium would never allow that" when it's a Rogue Trader tradition to just slap a few hundred purity seals on the first xeno you find and let them walk around the bridge.

Or like "the Imperium would never allow Psykers in a position of power!" when the entire Inquisition is built off an arms race to see who can be the biggest dickiest witch to ever witch without exploding.
