I think I've finally got the character design for Puchi Hero dialed in
Concept art of Puchi Hero and Blobat. On the left is Puchi Hero, a girl with pink hair wearing lightweight red armor, in a neutral standing pose facing right. On the right is a drawing of Puchi Hero holding a giant blueberry with some bites taken out of it. Blueberry juice covers her mouth. Next to her on the ground is Blobat, a blue bloblike bat, its fangs poking into a giant blueberry and juice leaking onto the ground.

Still working some things out but plans are gradually coming together...
Puchi Hero, a girl with lightweight red armor, is looking over the side of a wooden bridge and smiling at a friendly looking horned purple serpent rising out of the water. Her companion Blobat, a bloblike bat, is floating over the railing. A mother duck and her two ducklings are calmly swimming through the water beneath the bridge. Behind the bridge in the background you can see part of a grassy island grass with some rocks where it meets the water.
