I think there are pros and cons to both systems (price, efficiency, cooling, etc.). In Germany, I think the main reason is that people are used to the heated water system and prefer to replace only one component. In newly built houses, air-to-air is common as well.

Most buildings already have a heating system via water and radiators installed, but no existing space for air shafts. An air-to-water heat pump is a plug-in replacement for older oil- or gas-fired heating systems. Retrofitting a ventilation system would be incredibly expensive or nearly impossible.

Exploring the API option means:
- it requires you to setup a Google Cloud project
- with full billing and permissions setup

Question: why so complicated? It basically bars any corporate users from utilizing Gemini CLI.

- Business starter you get Gemini in Gmail and Gemini web. No CLI, only via API
- Business Standard (+€7/seat): Gemini in Docs etc, Expanded access in web (huh?), still no CLI
- Gemini AI Ultra (+€108/seat)

PS: Regarding 40 disks, I was at uni in '94, which had a 2x64k line. At times, I saturated the internet on my own...

It took me a whole year until '92 to have a CD of a Slackware spinoff and almost another year until I got it running the first time...)
