H.P. Lovecraft is always a difficult read for me. His prose is intentionally purple which manages to build up a sense of dread, but the writing never gets out of the way of the story. I just finished At the Mountains of Madness. Below are the coordinates he gives in the book. #lovecraft

I like it when I post pictures of my trip to Devil’s Tower and people point out that that’s where Close Encounters of the Third Kind was filmed. Plot twist: it wasn’t! It was filmed on a sound staged made to look like Devil’s Tower. Crazy world.
