Don’t give yourself the objective of exploring Tokyo. Find something that’s closer to what you enjoy. Go to a book shop. Find a sushi restaurant. Look for one of these funky arcade joints, or a karaoke venue. Or a museum, a temple, a graveyard…

Find something you’ll enjoy.

I think there’s something about claiming and affirming agency and power over others, too. It may be easier to act cruel than good, and to feel in control.

It’s quite disturbing for me, because like you, I used to think that everyone is good. Even trying to avoid the “good vs bad” way of thinking, even considering we’re determined by our material conditions of existence, I’m quite disturbed to see that cruelty seems the point of some people’s actions.

I had a similar conversation with a friend recently who insisted that people I bash cruel just have a very different set of values and things they deemed good/people they deemed worthy of being called human.

I wasn’t convinced. I think for some people cruelty is the objective.

Il a été vérifié par Molly Shah, je profite de l’occasion de sa suspension pour partager sa cagnotte.
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Mohammed. Mohammed is 22 and was studying electrical engineering (you can read about his family in the 🧵 ). He’s trying to help his family including his pregnant sister Rasha and his 4 year old nephew Khamis who started kindergarten yesterday!

Ils déploient un temps et des ressources folles à jouer au jeu de la taupe (whac-a-mole) avec les Gazaoui-es, ils ont rien de mieux à faire. Ça prend des proportions incompréhensibles.
