People in the market to own a home are not the people most at risk of homelessness. Renters are more at risk of homelessness. The increase in the price of rent contributes to homelessness more than the increase in the price of homes for sale.

If "homes" include apartments, then building more homes absolutley helps to decrease homelessness.
