If Democrats deny that crime is a problem, we are missing where voters are.
September 3, 2025 at 5:57 PM
As TW's Matt Bennett said, "crime, politically, is an issue when voters feel that it is real, and the data is not really that relevant." It's crucial that Democrats aren't dismissing voters' valid concerns about crime.

Democrats must focus their messaging on things their constituents care about, like 12 million people losing their health care and the national debt increasing tremendously—all thanks to Trump's Big Ugly Bill.
August 6, 2025 at 6:49 PM
We've got new data out, and it paints a clear picture of how Democrats should be talking about Republicans’ unpopular Big "Beautiful" Bill.

"Democrats have been too attached to a status quo that has been failing us for a long time," @petebuttigieg.bsky.social told @steveinskeep.bsky.social this morning.

We agree. Voters want to see change and policies that support them.

The existential threat is our shrinking middle class, @elissaslotkin.bsky.social warns, because when people feel they can't get ahead, they blame other people.

National parks lack resources, communities struggle to recover from storms, and Americans cannot confidently get on a plane.

Under Trump, Americans are worse off and their lives (and livelihoods) are at risk.
July 16, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Progressive groups generate excitement in the Democratic base but don't win elections in purple or red places. As we've seen time and time again, House and Senate majorities are won through the center.

News flash: Trump doesn't give a s**t about your energy bills.

Trump's plan for the Fourth: Make America Sicker.
July 3, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Thanks to Trump, your Fourth of July Barbecue is about to cost more. The @washingtonpost.com reports that since January, the average price of ingredients for a BBQ has already gone up 2%.
July 3, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Republicans promised to focus on safety, but their actions are leaving you and your family sicker, weaker, and more vulnerable.

These are kitchen table concerns for voters in the middle. Democrats should hammer the GOP's reckless cuts consistently.

As @elissaslotkin.bsky.social said at @americanprogressaction.org: things aren’t off because Americans have stopped working hard. It’s because the government hasn’t lived up to its side of the great American deal. It's time that changes.

Immigrant entrepreneurs are starting businesses, creating jobs, and boosting innovation. Trump's mass deportations and visa restrictions threaten their progress.

They also don't trust Democrats. The party has a massive brand problem on spending.

✖️24% said Dems spend on the wrong priorities
✖️24% said Dems don’t take waste, fraud, & abuse seriously
✖️16% said Dems spend too much

Democrats have an opportunity to go on offense on fiscal responsibility and the economy—and our polling backs it up.

We recently polled likely voters from five 2026 Senate battleground states. To no surprise, the economy ranked highest on voters' priorities.
June 20, 2025 at 4:26 PM
“Democratic voters are sending a clear message as the 2025 primary season concludes by elevating a new generation of strong, moderate Democrats to lead the party forward," said TW's Lanae Erickson.

As yesterday marked 10 years of Trump in politics, @thirdwaymattb.bsky.social reminds us of how Trump fundamentally changed the basic principles of conservatism.

Donald Trump has purposefully thrown gasoline on the fire in LA.

TW's Jim Kessler shares why Democratic governors and mayors need to be ready at home so Trump cannot replicate what's happening in LA across the country.
June 13, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Trump wants chaos in more cities across the country because it helps him politically. Democrats must stand on the side of law and order and be ready to counter him.
June 13, 2025 at 4:26 PM
Promises made, promises NOT kept.
June 11, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Trump knows that his economic policies are hurting working families, and he couldn't care less. He promised lower costs and order, but instead has only made American life more costly and chaotic.
June 11, 2025 at 5:10 PM
Elissa Slotkin says Democrats must embrace change and put their "marker down" on what should happen moving forward. We agree.
