Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans interrogates the hell out of the "teen protagonists/child soldiers" trope. Brutal, but it's good storytelling, and it knows which mecha drama tropes to deconstruct and which to showcase. At two seasons of 26 eps each, it's longish but doesn't overstay its welcome.
