The way we rushed back to the old normal was such a profound failure of imagination and solidarity. A better world was possible, and we scorned it for the sake of short-term profits.

N=1, but in my experience full recovery from a crash can take a month. I'm PEM dead for about five days, then functional but diminished until I gradually get back to my baseline (so long as I don't overdo it again in the meantime). So, hopefully you should get it back.

*probably fairer to say interesting data rather than interesting research, given how the research paper fails to consider factors other than the public health measures.

Figure 1 from the paper. If "lockdowns" were the problem, then kids who were born after "lockdowns" and were 13-15 months old in 2023 would be back at the original level. So this was caused by something else, something that was sustained for the whole time period. Like Covid.
