There was a really depressing one on Metafilter a while back about Amazon workers living in RVs in the parking lot. Lots of people on Social Security who couldn’t just retire.

It’s very telling that the number of Instagram/TikTok accounts by people living in their vehicles seems to have exploded, and it’s by no means all free spirited nomads-by-choice.

HMRC used to be so easy to deal with. I mean, tax problems are always stressful, but you could call up and get a calm, competent person who would talk you off the ledge and tell you how to fix it. Now it’s a nightmare.
