And to be clear, this is not me saying that $80 for a AAA game is a ripoff. For the budgets, team sizes, and scope of the work being done, the cost is MORE than reasonable.
But do we really need or want that anymore? And when a game looks nice, but is otherwise an empty experience, does it matter?

I am honestly way more excited about The Indie Game Awards, the nominations this year are absolutely bonkers!!

It does look like Clair Obscur is going to fulfill its Oscarbait dreams that's it's had since day 1. I do think it's going to do exceptionally well.
