Maybe he's right to some degree, One Piece definitely carries very strong anti-imperialist and anti-war themes, but I really don't think people are obligated to talk about the real world issues they're connected to. I think it's okay to keep those things separate, if only because fiction != reality.

Funnily enough, both services do suffer from the problem of "you might suddenly become unable to interact with half the website because 2 dickheads have beef with each other." On Mastodon due to defederation and inter-instance drama, on here due to blocklists.

I used to use Mastodon, for maybe 2-ish years before I came here. "Small town" and "big city" are definitely the vibes I'd ascribe to Mastodon and Bluesky respectively. I was much closer with my moots on Mastodon, but there were also a lot fewer of them. The social graph was much smaller.

I also don't understand why they'd want to train on fucking vines of all things. You don't train LLMs (just) on tweets, you train them on Wikipedia and textbooks.
