“If there is a stronger government, then perhaps it will be able to get away with more deception (think fascist/communist propaganda, or Orwell’s 1984) and it will find it easier to pretend that it is solving problems than actually having to solve problems.” #EpsteinFiles #Plantir
Call me old fashioned but, girls travelling to an island full of men for the purpose of sex and being videotaped is …… oh it’s love island ….. this is why I hate reality TV and we need to disscuss our realitionship with it

I find this in sharp contrast to Tax Payers alliance who saw Brexit as a return to the empire and more globalisation away from a dictating close knit EU…….this is causing a brain itch, something is not aligned here .
#Epstien saw #Brexit as the “return to tribalism, counter to globalisation”. new alliances - and global collapse …..isn’t it lovely that they saw Brexit as a way to pick over the debris it made -

🇸🇪- Peter Thiel is in the Epstein files —then gets real quiet when reporters ask about it.
Palantir billionaire powering ICE surveillance, funding far-right politics, sitting at the core of Trump’s tech oligarchy.
Epstein wasn’t an anomaly. He was a gatekeeper.Thiel was inside the circle.

The Ministry of Justice has ordered the deletion of the UK’s largest court reporting archive.

This risks undermining open justice, and I believe, undermines the public accountability role of the press by making it harder to see what is going on in the courts.

Courtsdesk, which supports the media in monitoring records, is an important tool for journalists and the move raises concerns over open justice

Good morning. The President of the United States was in the middle of the most serious child sex trafficking ring of the last quarter century.

He is referenced not a dozen times in the case files. Not 100 times. Not 1,000 times. He’s referenced 38,000 times.

I’d like to see members elected by local citizens assemblies, not political at all, but people who represent the people, nominated by the people.

Political appointments should be stopped. It really should represent all walks of life, like a jury does I guess.

This is merely the warm up act for the actual aim: to get the assisted dying bill through whatever it takes. It is concerning for many psychiatrists and palliative care professionals that there are still many questions about the nature of the treatments and the safeguards.

The far right who now represent Labour are having a Trump.
Not *all* Labour MPs wanted McSweeney out.

If you are using the phrase "full speed ahead to uber-woke, net-zeroist, rejoinerism", especially if you are of the left, a loved one should take your phone off you and send you to Baden-Baden or somewhere for a month.
Yes, god help we risk a floundering government that feels like no one is in charge.

Having watched TV news a lot over last week, and then read the Epstein files - I feel confident to report that a huge amount of political reporters are so far off they may as well live in the moon ! Read the files, the political landscape since 2016 is clearly mapped out as they all wrote to Epstein

I do wonder about anyone who thinks McSweeney single-handedly won Labour its majority. They do realise they were up against a catastrophically unpopular government? The 2024 result was very much an underperformance against the fundamentals.
