Excerpt From Shadow and Specter: Vol III She caresses my face, holding me as if I am the most fragile and precious thing in the world. If this were any other moment, I may have wondered how a Shadow could hold such tenderness... But her eyes, what were once twin flames of blue fire, have smothered to a dull cinder as she studies me drinking in every detail as if she could etch the memory of me into her next life. The tears are hot as they roll down my cheeks, burning against my skin. 'Do not go. Please, please do not leave me,' I choke. It is all I can do not to lose myself, not to crumble as her too-cold body rests against me. My arms threaten to quiver as I hold her, but I keep still as stone, as if one small motion could steal her final breath. The Shadow Queen's eyes crinkle, and it is her who steals my breath away as finally, she smiles. 'I love you,' she says. The cinders turn ash. Senka is a different case than Laelia.
Despite once being a Shadow, a demon basically, he has a passionate hatred for Romalia and its people, and nobility in general. He doesn’t carry beliefs, per se, at least not at the beginning. Just a gut feeling.

Laelia is definitely a lover of all, who believes that everyone has good in them that can be encouraged. She believes no one is truly evil, and that all life is precious. She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, and won’t harm even a fly on purpose.

Erica is one such figure. She is the daughter of the tyrant Lycoris, a member of a distant branch family of the crown that took the throne by force. After usurping Lycoris, Erica married the rightful heir of the throne, and acts as Queen of Romalia.

What is shocking, as Shadows are believed to be incorporeal beings, is that one of them was brought to flesh.

Senka is that Shadow, somehow ended mortal by Laelia in a bargain to save her life. He turns flesh, but tough he retains his shadow abilities, he is able to walk freely in the sun.
