My fundamental issue with this post is that Wicked and the Wizard of Oz are two different stories. It’s not a sequel or a prequel. It’s not trying to be. It’s an alternative. Don’t use one as a basis to critique the other.

As a sort-of would be post-doc it’s heartening to hear that other writers/scholars do this too!
