This has sort of always been my philosophy. At least at the start of a generation I would pick one that appealed to me more and then pick up the rest later. But now its really only nintendo I'll need for exclusives there.

Cant wait to watch this. Love Edgar Wright and Glen Powell is easily becoming one of those actors where I'll go watch anything hes in.

Both playthroughs of Dread I've done were about 8 hours on the game timer and I wanna say 45 minutes of each was the final boss so youre probably good.

I'm the same way. I think maybe theres a few that get upscaled on emudeck but I havent really noticed.

I use scanlines up until PS1 era but after that I havent really found many that look as good. Big reason I bought a CRT and a Plasma tv.

Any time I watch a youtube video that talks about old games and see this I laugh. Luckily don't see it much anymore. I've tried to play some SNES games in 8:7 since that's how they're actually programmed but that looks off to me cause I'm so used to 4:3 lol

That's why I mainly have stuck with console. I would never have even considered something like this until the SteamDeck honestly. I've always kept a pretty decent PC for certain games though, like FF14 and higher end emulation as well.

That amount of power is fine for me honestly. Im never big on needing the best of the best. But I get that concern. If I buy one and just cant play a 2027 game by that time theres a problem lol
