Another name for it is Monkey pot, which comes from the proverb "a wise old monkey doesn't stick its hand into a pot". The proverb comes from how young monkeys who want the nuts will stick their whole hand inside, but then find it's too full to pull out, while older monkeys take the nuts one by one.

The lecythis, despite its name, is not where lecithin is normally sourced from. Lecithin comes from oils that have been separated from the source material such as soy. This does, however, mean you can make lecithin out of lecythis to get lecythis lecithin. (1/2)

While not as common as the breadfruit, the breadnut is a staple crop in New Guinea, and has many culinary uses. One is "ginataang kamansi", a Philippine dish involving strips of breadnut being cooked with coconut milk and spices. It serves as an alternative for breadfruit, jackfruit, and antipolo.

The breadnut is not to be confused with the similarly named breadFRUIT, as while related they are distinct species. The breadnut can be identified by being much spinier and having more seeds, with some subspecies of breadfruit having further differences such as different color and foliage. (1/2)

It is able to tolerate light shade and can be found in both canopies and lower levels. Being an evergreen, it also retains its foliage year around. However, due to having exceptionally hard shells, it's difficult for the seeds to germinate despite the plant itself having little soil requirements.

Coula Edulis is also sometimes called the "gabon nut" or "African walnut", but it is not related to walnuts at all. Its name comes from the fact that they resemble walnuts from the outside. It has several other names in the tropics of Africa, including Anamemila, Bombulu, Dibetou, and Mpengwa. (1/2)

Kurrajong has a few other recorded uses as well. The roots could be bored into to collect water to drink, and the dried shells of the nut were used by native tribes for things such as shields or kids' toys.

There are just over 30 different species of Brachychiton, which is the proper name for Kurrajong (another name is Bottletree), all of which are native to Australia. It is referred to as bush food, and was a valuable source of food for Australian settlers. (1/2)

In 1851, Fox Henderson Construction used a standard nut-bolt combination to construct the entirety of the Crystal Palace, a 990,000 square foot structure of entirely sheet glass and sheet metal, in only 190 days. The British Standard of nut and bolt sizing was later adopted in 1905.

Originally, nuts and bolts were not standardized at all, making it impossible to replace either as there weren't any ways to get a match. Joseph Whitward was the first to introduce the idea of standardization in 1841, but this would not be adopted until 1851, a decade later. (3/4)

Historically, nuts were predominantly square as these were the easiest to design, but hexagonal nuts became the standard as it was found that they have the optimal number of sides for both ease of use and ease of grip. (2/4)

In hardware, nuts are threaded fasteners with a hole in the center that are paired with a matching bolt, and are used to fasten two different pieces of material together in things such as machinery and construction. (1/4)

Coconuts have a number of uses. Both the water in the shell and the shaved inner portion are used in cooking, and other parts are used for fuel, fiber, oil, and more. Even the plant itself has uses; the branches are used for physical punishment and the roots have medicinal and dye purposes.

The coconut is once again a drupe, not a nut, meaning it's the large stone found in the center of a much larger fruit. The coconut is also one of the largest drupes, being heavy enough that coconuts falling from trees is enough to sometimes kill a person through head trauma. (1/2)
