So I had some wood I was whittling, but I really messed up the original concept. Not wanting to throw the piece of wood away, I changed my mind and decided to do a handle instead. I’ve never done a half before so I thought it would be a good challenge.

I decided to dress up my crutches for fall, in advance of AllHallowsEve.

I use hockey tape and a sharpie to achieve this effect. I was planning on sanding down and repainting my crutches anyway, as they fallen so many times. #AltTxt #Disability #DisabledLife #DIY #Costume

When I was pregnant with our youngest, my wife and I made and painted this. Last month, my son came to me, head down, as they knocked from the ceiling of the room by accident. They were sure I was going to be furious. All I said was, we can fix this and it will be fun. They asked why I wasn’t mad. ⬇️

A green covered hard cover book about “The Life of Queen Victoria and the Story of Her Reign”. In the middle is a black-and-white picture of Queen Victoria, surrounded by the Royal crest. In each of the four corners of the cover is a different coat of arms. What Coat of Arms they are, I have no idea. I will do my best to describe them however. All coat of arms have a crown on top them, and are supported by oak leaves. TOP LEFT: has four quadrants. Top left square has a background of gold and an outline of an anchor with an arrow through it. Top right square has a background of green and has a gold what looks like a horse and a yoke (?). Bottom left square has golden plough share on a green background. Bottom right square has a green caduceus with a gold background BOTTOM LEFT: a gold harp on a green background TOP RIGHT: has four quadrants, separated by a thick red cross. In the centre of the cross is a green thing that I can’t make out I’m sorry. It could’ve been scratch. It might be a lion. It could be an island, I don’t know because I’ve never seen or studied coat of arms. It also has a top border with green ivy leaves on gold. All four quadrants have a green background with gold figures, as follows. Top left square it appears to be a stout or a giant river otter. Top right square it looks like an axe and a saw. Bottom left square ploughshare. Bottom, right square a sheaf of wheat. BOTTOM RIGHT: on a gold background, is an inner ornate frame of red. Within that frame is a rearing lion facing left This is the only publication date I could find, on an inner left page. Text is as follows: Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1901, by W. E. SCULL, in the offce of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington.

So this is the result so far of Frankie’s summer clipping. She immediately feels how much cooler she is when we clip her fur during the summer heat, so she cooperates with us much easier coming into summer. Seriously, I could make a small dog out of her cuttings.

A blue rectangle mop bucket, holds a white plastic bag. Inside the bag is all the the black fur clipped so far from my dog. She calls the shots - when she wants a break, she takes one. When she’s ready to go, she lays back down beside the clippers. Cool thing about these clippers is that they are attached to a hose that takes pretty much all the fur into an easily emptied receptacle. There’s still about 50% of her to go at this point.

The honeybee swarm and their queen have been successfully rescued!! In the process we learned an amazing amount of things about #HoneyBees and how swarms behave and why they do what they do.

This was used to shake the swarm into the bucket, and from there into the hive rescue/transfer box. This is a close-up of the swarm landing and going inside the rescue/hive box. The beekeeper told us she knew the queen was most likely inside because around the edges of the lid were a line of bees fanning their wings. This allowed them to spread the pheromones of their queen for and wide to help any stray honeybees find their way home. Beekeeper sent me this photo just now, the queen and her rescued swarm of honeybees, settling into their new home. The lid to the temporary transfer/rescue hive box is open, and a line of honeybees is crawling inside a brightly painted green hive box.

My 13 year old (with permission from the bee rescuer) scrambled up the ladder to take a picture of the honey-bee swarm up close, before the rescue began in earnest. The queen was found and the bees were taken to a new home. Nature is so amazing! #AltText #BeeRescue #HoneyBeeSwarm #BeesOfBlueSky

Growing up in the mountains, I developed a love of being outdoors. Today although it’s cold and raining, I still prefer to sit on the porch, resting in nature. My friend Scout landed on the canopy to let me know he wanted breakfast. So I sprinkled grubs about the garden as he supervised. #Crows

While waiting for pick up at the clinic, I realized my disability has stopped me from going outside. Photography has become challenging.

Guess who decided to go take pictures in spite of the pain? It’s not my best but it was a big victory for me.

This is one of my crow friends, we call her White Wing because of the white spots on her wing. She’s the bonded mate of the crow we call Scout. She was hopping along the fence beside me and misstepped. So she had to do an impromptu takeoff.
