ACTUALLY this is how i found out he has aphantasia in the first place!! long story but i was pretend feeding him a whopper to ask if he wanted to go get BK and he was like "it's not like i can taste it". i was BLOWN AWAY that he couldn't imagine the taste

yeah!! explaining it to husband is basically impossible cause he has to physically choose to focus on things when he hasn't taken his meds lmao so he doesn't understand how i can just SEE the apple while talking to him

That's so wild to me!! there is a fundamental disconnect too cause I can't imagine (ha) not being able to see things with my mind's eye, and he can't even grasp what I mean when I say I'm seeing things 😭

And tbh I think that's why a lot of people dislike reading or can't absorb the information, they're not able to visualize any of it!!

It's really interesting though. I've found my friends who are autistic and schizospec (like me) have very detailed imaginations, but my AuDHD friends (like husband) usually have some form of aphantasia. Have there ever been any aphantasia and neurodivergence studies I wonder....
