each one is a layered character in her own way. I think the fashion seemed to be to really say "oh makoto is the one with secret depth", but Rei is just so balanced in who she is and what she wants. A foil to early Usagi.

He's actually not apathetic, which is the real ninjitsu. He cares about people instead of systems, really, but in a way that's not loudly self-righteous.

I mean I was too young to understand if there was a nationalism here? Just loud music to wake up to and act a goof about, but it also meant a lot of my mom's closest friends were Swedes.

I think there is a gentleness to the critique of One Punch Man that helps the story keep its heart when it's obviously a loud satire in other ways.
