I agree. We seem to lose our smaller languages as the Big Five take over.
Here, most children outside the central plains are bi-lingual.

It's amazing, isn't it, that Jesus always wants good things for mega pastors but so little for their members?

Just once, I'd like one of these hypocrites die early and someone can go on television and say, "Well, Jesus obviously *wanted* him to have an aneurysm!"

3 Born in The USA - Bruce
2 Welcome to the Pleasure Dome - Frankie GTH
1 Like A Virgin - Madonna

I was 16. Bruce and Madonna were my first two CDs. I was training a lot and had a knock-off walkman to run with, having taped these albums. Frankie was a change in style which I liked.

In my defence: I had just returned from PNG as an 11 year-old. No TV at that time so airmail letters from my eldest brother (at boarding school in Hobart) told us which pirated cassettes to buy from the Chinese Co-Op at the Boroko Shopping Complex.

2 - Hotter Than July - Stevie Wonder
1 - Icehouse - Flowers

Special mention to Turn of Friendly Card by the APP - which I was introduced to in 1987 with the album "Stereotomy"so I bought the whole back catalogue.

3 Graceland - Paul Simon
2 A.O. Mod. TV. Vers. - Spy v Spy
1 Slippery When Wet - Bon Jovi

G'lands iconic sound; the ubiquity of Bon Jovi. BUT Spy vs Spy has the Aussie social commentary. This album was played each weekend at my first share house in 1987. Saw them live in 1988. Brilliant!

All the other English-speaking countries would, too. Most have already had female leaders.

Well, I suppose if Americans stopped deifying politicians like you do with your "Founding Fathers", that'd be a start.
I mean you prostrate yourselves before those guys (and Lincoln) so why do you find it weird that the uneducated masses from poor States found their own deity to worship?
