I've got a lot of scanning and lettering to do, but all the pages of the first episode are inked!

It's important to share

I have such a good backstory idea for Jun that I want to yap about, but I want to keep her mysterious for a few episodes and not spoil it.

I think I'm getting the hang of this comic making thing.

Pages from my copy of the Star Fleet Technical manual- particularly the navigation section.

It would be a mistake to publish a galactic map of my Star Spanners universe before I have explored much of it, but silly little things like this inspire me.

My comic making weapons. I put the colored tape on the pen caps so I can easily grab what I need. Blue drafting pencils are loaded with non photo plue lead. The other colors are 2H graphite in different sizes.

If I survive the grocery store, I get to play Silksong and cuddle these cuties later.

So much drawing...

Hitting that discouraged stage when it all feels a bit pointless. I very much enjoy drawing these pages, but I'm I'm usually drawing in solitude besides MAYBE someone doing something unrelated at art day if they show up. I don't care about numbers and likes. I want art friends.

I forgot tinkercad was a thing that lets me design spaceships at work

It's kind of hard not to compare your work with that of artists who influence you. My style sits somewhere between meticulous realism and silly cartoon. Instead of despairing I'm actively leaning into it as it reflects the tone subject matter: somewhere between hard science fiction and space fantasy

I wanted to build a model of the rover as a drawing reference but I didn't have time. I would have made a digital one too and traced it, but I don't have a permanent setup for my tablet and I can't be bothered. So perspective grids and tracing paper it is for now!

I need to build a rudimentary model of the rover so I can draw it in perspective in the second panel on page 16

I didn't warm up before drawing this page. But it's a text heavy page, so no one will be looking too closely. And it's amazing how a few shadows and clean gutter lines can really sell it as a legit comic.

I'm still getting to know these dorks but I unconditionally love them.

I was looking through an old camera roll and there are some good space photos I took.

When everyone else was getting dates, I was peering into the void.

Very high kp index right now. I'm at work and there is a lot of light pollution here, whether there are clouds or not, but if you live in the north, you might see smth! Maybe I'll listen with my VLF later to see if the activity is kicking up any weird signals

Work is too overstimulating and I have such a sharp headache. Doing something intricate with my hands helps..

Investigating the apparently abandoned research station. Space explorers staring at something in amazing is one of my favorite motifs. What is the skipper of the Star Spanner looking at? You'll just have to subscribe to find out!
