Our 3-hour survey took about 5 hours and we still had to end it early, with north of 40 salmon counted (dead and alive) in our transect. #fieldwork 🐟

Just a note that, for people who want an excellent gift for the Field Biologist in their lives, you can do no better than a boot dryer. I was 10 years into my biologist career before someone gifted me one and it has been a game changer. No more cold clammy boots in the morning! #biologists

We have 42 people signed up for the volunteer program and ready to start amphibian audio surveys in the city of Davis! Preliminary surveys start tomorrow and run all week, with teams officially starting Dec 1st. This is my first widespread-effort citizen science program, wish us luck! #herps
