4/7 Through simulations, we show that spline-regression / #GAM outperforms other approaches - and that not modelling overlap or duration is not an option (here shown one simulation, but many more in the paper!)

3/7 One complication: Durations typically come with overlapping signals (in fMRI this is obvious, but also in #EEG!). Deconvolution/TRF-modelling is possible, but can we model duration and deconvolution at the same time?

We argue that duration-modelling could be generalized to all forms of durations and brain related time-series.
