We share a ton of genes with butterflies, because they’re basic steps to being alive, so reusing them lets us trim our viral genome a bit.

Instead you could use a more simple mRNA replicating virus to encode the creation of a retrovirus so that we stick to our theme. The advantage of a retrovirus is that we can inject the genes into the nucleus and save some gene space.

No, adding butterfly DNA wouldn’t be using RNA anymore. You’d need to re-encode the entire butterfly genome as RNA and use some sort of RNA virus as a carrier. A retrovirus would be easiest, but that feels like a cop out.

After years of being on the maximum dose of focalin and two other medications, my mom had me take a break from all of them in middle school, and multiple teachers remarked that my behavior had actually improved without knowing that I had stopped my medication.

Dismissing an actual issue as a fabricated moral panic based on one paragraph is irresponsible. I was on 3 different prescription medications for most of my childhood due to my ADHD and side effects from the ADHD medication. They exacerbated my existing anxiety disorder.

Just force them to take a US citizenship test before each term. It makes sure they have some basic civic education and it functions as a makeshift dementia test to make sure they are at least somewhat cognizant.
