youtube.com/@mogemulation Emulator+Senior UI/UX Coder. MAME/Guitar Hero/Minecraft Rabbits/Helldivers 2 UI/Great Circle UI. AuDHD. Any/all. Newly-minted gamedev consultant. Opinions my own. 🔞.
I'm presently trying to emulate the Nikko digiBLAST media/gaming handheld.

It runs Linux on a 180MHz ARM system-on-a-chip, and its controls work via an OHCI USB host, so I need to emulate a USB host.

It is proof beyond denial that there is indeed a God, and he is vengeful and angry at our hubris.

Honestly, th'hell is going on with these funding websites? Fuck it, I'm in for a grand just to see folks doing something different, new, and (let's be real here) probably providing a lot more satisfaction than a lot of fellow game devs convince themselves they're doing.

Reminder: Icer "Sardu" Addis (of Bloodlust/NESticle fame) might've been Near if not for an anonymous game-dev giving him an 'out' via EA Tiburon.

Yet folks still went all shocked-Pikachu at Icer's readme.md about SNESticle. "You guys have way too much free time"? What does it all MEAN? /s

In your previous posts, you agreed with every fundamental gripe I've said about AI in the tech sphere. Not only that, you reiterated the same criticisms I've been leveling at it for over a year at this point.

Yet you opted to hem and haw about a nonexistent future involving GAI.

Honestly, what?

Small reminder - now being 40 - that there's nothing stopping you from having the sort of life that gives people on r/thathappened conniption fits.

Go live the sort of life that people'll doubt.

It would be neat to have a Speaker role. And if not, that's cool too. Mostly UI/UX these days. Just really glad to know you're alive and about.

Still've gotta get around to redeeming this particular sticker.

It's been half a decade since a devastating, soul-rending phone call from Pilestedt in the midst of the pandemic, during the development of #Helldivers2 at Arrowhead (h/t @wingfrog.bsky.social).

Still miss you, Alisa. So does Marre. So does everyone. I hope to see you again some day. We all do.

I don't know if it's because I've become more easygoing over the years, or if it was a case of massive jet-lag, but even though I'm visibly tired in this second pic, I'm genuinely floored by how much better I look today, in 2025, than I did back in 2013.

Why?!

Preach it, Zane. The perpetual undervaluation of folks who do things far more important than my own profession will always be a personal side-thorn. But maybe, some day, it'll get better.

Likewise!

Some day we'll end up on the same project, I swear. Meanwhile, a Gordy Haab-shaped consolation prize. 😂

Fun dude, I could count on one hand - minus some digits - the number of audio folks I've encountered who know what I'm talking about when I mention Fairlight.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's launch party was easily the best one I've been to in nearly 20 years of being in the industry.

Can't quite place name to the face of that guy I took a selfie with... ;-)

Not for nothing, but a friend sketched this for me back when the first trailer featuring banjo-beatings came out.

Corrected first image. Many thanks to "Invalid handle" for letting me know.

Oh, hey. Apparenlty I'm in a book. Neat!

Big ups to @kelslewin.bsky.social for her supreme historian skills. This book is super cool, go buy it, and throw an eye towards @bossfightbooks.bsky.social's other publications as well!

@bossfightbooks.bsky.social Hey! If I'm shaking the wrong tree, feel free to tell me off.

I'm having trouble reading one of your books via Thorium Reader on Win10 x64.

Thorium purportedly supports zoom, but it seems like an author-enabled feature.

Could you add this markup in future publications?

Did a direct reply, but since I'm not sure how Bluesky works when it comes to replies vs. quotes, and I want this on my timeline

Some other images from today's progress on Crisis Zone.

If you've seen the previously-posted video, I managed to track down the person who stole the angry dude's torso, and when holding them upside-down and giving a good shake, a helicopter, knife/missile trails, and Persian rugs also fell out.

Couple photos of the test mode of a Pac-Man TV plug-and-play handheld, courtesy of Australian game-dumper Guru.

Really underscores just how far we've yet to come in the realm of CRT simulation - and with the distinct vertical lines on the left edges of glyphs in image 1, may never come. (1/2)

I'm willing to hear him out, but if John here starts pushing bread futures on me, I swear to god I'm out.
