Hi, I’m an ND sci fi/fantasy writer working on my debut novel

I like to talk about books, games, history, and whatever’s interesting at the moment.

Also I’m learning Japanese, so これを読めばこんにちはを言ってくれませんか
Getting so close to the end of the Rincewind books. Australia time

Now there’s that Pratchett insight. I’ve been missing it in the Rincewind books

Hopefully this was a good decision…

Oh there’s the Terry Pratchett I know. May we all live to see boring times again

I’m now starting Blood Over Bright Haven by M.L. Wang. I’ve heard good things about this one

Merry Christmas. I got peak Discworld this year

Started Monstrous Regiment. It’s really nice to have Vimes back, even for just one book. I’ll be going through more standalones to break up the Wizards books. Waiting on Pyramids and Small Gods from the library

The Discworld’s coming fast recently, moving on to Eric. It’s more Rincewind, but at least it’s short. Next one will probably be Pyramids

Bought a book while Christmas shopping

It’s Discworld time again!

I hope Rincewind gets more interesting this book than he was in the last two. I’m not expecting Vimes level writing, but…

So that’s $15, hopefully good decisions. Both of these were recommended by friends, so hopefully my friends have good taste

So it’s been a bit since I finished The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, but this bit won’t leave my head

Well damn, guess I can’t choose Zelda… so

I think this is the closest I have to a celebrity picture, so uhh… not great

Time to thud into some more Discworld

Oh wow, Discworld again being real and relevant

Night Watch is feeling like a very timely read. It’s really good so far.

Finally following the trend. This title screen song is great

So this was a bit uncanny to read in Night Watch by Terry Pratchett

Definitely the best ones. An interesting thing I ran into on vacation made me like North Carolina too. Seeing it all around the water had me thinking how naval it was, and that was cool and a great change from their old confederate one

With very good timing, the library has now delivered The Book That Broke the World by Mark Lawrence. The previous book is still fresh in my mind, and those multi month wait lists coming down so close together is really something

I’m excited

Library says it’s time for more Discworld. Hopefully this hits the same highs as Fifth Elephant, though it will be a bit sad to say goodbye to the Watch in 3 books

Really fun when you run into silly nonsense in video games. According to Final Fantasy 4 The After Years, this is a crossbow

I don’t think I need to explain why this is incredibly damaging to public knowledge and the field of history or how closely it parallels authoritarian regimes throughout history. Public access to information is the core of a functional democracy. Fucking fascists…
