I dunno, hot take I guess, but I think that the woman who shows up when your aunt is having a stroke or your friend is going into anaphylactic shock should make more than someone in an entry level emails job.
One thing that makes me dislike capitalism as a system, whatever the faults of its alternatives, is the way people in helper professions have their compassion exploited as an excuse to underpay or even not pay them at all. Meanwhile, parasites like Musk and co get trillion dollar pay packages.

Like why do we need new phones every 2-3 years? Because the people whose business model is to sell us more phones tell us that? Come on.
Phone consumerism strikes me as a particular curse. It further weds us to our screens, feeds the unethical, blood-soaked trade in conflict minerals in places like the Congo, and just generally makes us worse people. A hill I will plant my flag on.

The world will not snap back to normal after Democrats win an election. How do I know? Because they won in 2020 and the world only continued to go more floridly insane. We need to address the root cause of the insanity, which is the complete epistemological collapse we are living through.

My iPhone 7 is still chugging along almost 9 years after I got it and tbh were it not for forced obsolescence I'd plan to keep it for another few years, easy.

Anyway, while I'm still posting about it, the only Democrat I've seen talk about USAID's end recently has been Rebecca Cooke @rebeccaforwi.bsky.social. One of many reasons she's got my vote in WI-03!

Just repeating something I've said before: as more reports come out about the apocalyptic consequences of ending USAID, maybe America's premier socialist org should take ending it out of their platform

What I've come to learn about some Americans is that they aren't so much mad about corruption on principle, they're more so mad about the fact that they aren't personally benefiting from it.

That's cope. Earle-Sears got 40k more votes than Democrat Ralph Northam did in his 2017 VA gov win. It's just Spanberger got ~563k more.
