In BC (and canada in general) there is very little appetite for closer ties ti the United States at the moment — particularly with current tariff policies

Trust has been broken

In BC the big hurdles to building infrastructure are
1) massive cost overruns
2) environmental impact (tearing down forest and flooding land for dams)
And something that’s likely less of an issue in Cali:
3) First Nations land claims on unceded non-treaty land, which slow process by decades

I’m not sure where you live
BC mostly runs on hydro power already
So much so that our utility company is called BC HYDRO

Everyone wants the political boost that electric cars gives them (ie wow look aren’t we so much more green)

But nobody wants to shoulder the fiscal & environment cost of building another dam, especially after Site C

My point was more that the govt is definitely aiming to get many more things on the electric grid

But no govt appears to be willing to take the political hit that “improving the electrical grid” would cost them.

We are ALREADY importing electricity in BC— this is before AI etc.

25% of our power!

I wasn’t writing that as an “anti EV” statement

I drive an EV!

Wow that is wild! Thanks for responding

despite the fact that I wrote my message in a somewhat blunt matter

with no punctuation

and, after rereading, oh boy did it look unfriendly!
November 26, 2025 at 9:56 PM
I’m not sure what people thought would happen when everyone switches to EVs

You need to tell us what he did

As a Canadian we had our Thanksgiving ages ago and we have no reference point holiday for when American Thanksgiving occurs

It’s not a holiday here

A truly Canadian experience

From what I understand BC place was running test rules for the World Cup

My prediction at this point is Vancouver will play for the PK and lose because of it

Playing on the back foot all half
Such a dumb strategy. Momentum has been with LA all half
