All that said, as English speakers, we are blessed with a choice and a couple thousand years of shifting nuance. As a student of classical literature, I think "astrologist" seems most correct, but as an English speaking person, "astrologer" feels more appropriate because of modern cultural nuance.

From its Greek roots, "astro-logos-istes" (astrologist) is a star-reasoning-practitioner/believer. In ancient Greek, the use of "logos" (reasoned discourse) instead of "mythos" (imaginative interpretation/storytelling) implied it was a science. The -ist is akin to that found in artist or socialist.

There's a park near the Botanical Gardens (Glesga), and (last I was there, in the last century), someone'd knocked the sign off the structure that holds it, so there's just a big H-shaped bit of welded frame. Someone wrote on it "This H stands for 'Hello and welcome to the park!'"

I love it, but ouch!

In the US, they lied saying migrants were eating the cats and dogs. Now Farrage lies saying they're eating the swans. No one seems to have told him that you should only pilfer tactics that actually worked the first time. It requires a cultish us-vs-them mentality to take any of it seriously.

Personally, I think he always looks like a guilty, haunted puppet in all his pictures, like he is beholden to interests other than the ones he's ostensibly meant to be representing. He's pretty resolute and capable when it comes to working against the will and the interests of the people.
