New tech lead thought I was 27. 😅 I guess the webcam takes off 21 years in my case.

Too young to be a part of the golden age of orchestras, too old to break into home studio recording for digital media.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

A new Defunctland means time to prep more English paper piecing hexagons - the fabric here is from printed flour/feedsacks circa the 1930-50s, which would have been repurposed for garments and quilts.

Want to mess with your perception of time? Forget to shut off the daylight-bright grow lamps you have in the window, which has the shade down & curtains drawn to keep out the nighttime cold.

I don't know at this point I think if you genuinely believe in the democratic party doing anything to protect us or anything even remotely helpful in any way you're a rube at best and actively delusional at worst.
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

the nazis and pro-nazi media blamed all the ills of german society on jewish people. it was how they primed the pump before the holocaust. if u dehumanize people and say they cause all the problems, it becomes easy to exterminate them.

the right is doing the same thing to immigrants.
this defies parody. also helps explain why Sec Bessent bizarrely blamed immigrants when confronted with a question about high beef prices

I'm a little frustrated by UK artisans turning down my business on the assumption I won't want to pay for shipping and current tariff nonsense. I respect not wanting to do the paperwork or take on liability and refusing on those points, but I am very aware of costs and am trying to give you money. 😮‍💨

This is how "fast fashion" works. This is how it has always worked. There is no such thing as a robot sewing-machine. Only women, and starvation wages. This was true 150 years ago. And it's true now.
The people who make Shein's clothes labor for ten to twelve hours per day (in violation of China's labor laws), some up to seven days a week, and earn as little as 15 to 30 cents per t-shirt.

i think the credibility of CDC is burned for a generation. it will be more feasible to focus our limited resources elsewhere. i don’t see CDC as being able to effectively lead public health responses or be involved in much policy at all after this
The latest update to US CDC's website on autism and vaccination is, sadly, a major blow to the credibility of this institution. Because it undermines faith in any impartiality. It's going to take a major effort to reconstruct its status, assuming it even survives the next few years.

Can’t believe the whole country has to suffer through the return of Dickensian childhood diseases because the worst, most ignorant attention-demanders decided other people’s expertise makes them feel bad
