I too got this email. My question was what part of my talk about making textbooks free to students by cutting out for-profit publishers (like elsevier) indicated to this person that I would be interested in writing a book for elsevier. You know, since they were totally at my talk, as they claimed.

I'm not seeing the solicitation on the grfp website yet (just the submit deadline and a promise of a solicitation coming soon). Is it somewhere else? I'm wary there may be significant changes to the app this year that we need to help students navigate.
