We have written many reports on the economic contributions of immigrants. Sometimes we get valid criticism about reducing people to their labor. Interestingly many of the immigrants we have been interviewing in NYC & DC say that themselves in their effort to show they matter, hear Marshall Plane.

We ask whether someone’s movement is legal or illegal, allowed or forbidden. We debate thresholds and quotas, risks and threats. Rarely do we ask the more human question: Does a person have the right to move freely?

The U.S. often uses costly, unsafe private immigrant detention centers driven by ICE crackdowns and anti-immigrant sentiment. This system results in more arrests, more private detention centers, and more profit for private executives. Read more on our blog

In 100 days, Trump has done much on immigration policy, mainly via Executive Order, pushing legal boundaries. Courts have called for due process & the inadequate use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. Border encounters are very low, partly due to Mexico, Biden's limits on asylum & who was migrating.
