Surprise. The older I get, the more I cherish surprise. Because things tend to be hard, the everyday tilts toward the humdrum or the dismal, and surprises tend to be good. Most of all I never stop being surprised by the ability of some people to be kind and generous. It’s a mountain with no peak.
