It's so interesting that in the name of practicality we are urged to avoid any practical action; in the name of redemption we are urged to exonerate people who have shown no interest in redemption; in the name of civility we are urged to overlook the cruelty of those who scorn all civility

u may not like that some people out there are throwing molotov cocktails or punching nazis, but u have a lot more in common with them than u do any politician begging u to play nice and civil. and when ur abandoned by the state - it won't be those politicians who try and help u back up.

this isn't to say non-violence or peaceful protests are useless. they have their place! but just because they can be effective in context doesn't mean that they're the only solution!

diversity of tactics means working with people who u disagree with tactically but agree with ideologically

I think it’s important to note that the most effective ones are disruptive to capital and governmental procedure. Like blocking governmental places of work, streets, preventing ice trucks from entering their facilities, etc. The method and the outcome must be aligned for maximum message coherence

remember all the BLM protests, and how the media constantly demonized protesters as if they're evil rioters?

upwards of 94% of all BLM demonstrations had no violence, or even property destruction. see the linked post.

being nice and civil wont convince people who want u dead & will lie abt u!
Violence Against Black Lives Matter Protestors: a Review

you'll see a lot of gentry claim that peaceful protests are the only effective ones, that change doesn't happen from disruption.

not only is this not true (see: sci-hub.ru/10.1177/0896... & Charles Cobb's 'This Nonviolent Stuffll Get You Killed')....

...but we've lived through proof it isn't

politicians can only govern with the consent of the governed. they only follow the rules if it makes them look good and furthers their careers and pockets.

that's why politicians push you to do peaceful, nondisruptive, by-the-books protests: it makes them look tolerant & civil, its good PR!

if ur protests are peaceful, compliant, and backed by police -- that's not a protest, that's just a public hangout.

the most effective protests are disruptive as shit and are based on the will of the people. this is true across the world and throughout time. it will always be true

saw this. it's a good starting point, and good way to help out if you cant protest. but no matter what, the most effective thing to do is protest.

take notes from what nepal did, that's the way forward! diversity of tactics + solidarity!
friendly reminder, its not over til its fully over.
keep flooding them.

they can help, but they won't be able to do much. they're fundamentally a legal advocacy org, and by virtue of their role, they're restrained based on the confines of the law. if politicians decide to sidestep the law and use their wealthy attorneys to back it, then theres not much they can do sadly
